‘Necrobreed’ was a tour de force, but this offering is so potent that it threatens to usurp it. The album maintains an unyielding intensity from start to finish, relentless blast beats and bone-crushing riffs that are eargasmic. The drummer is monstrous, again a true standout is Julien vocals. There’s so much more to this album than can be captured in a few sentences. It’s a masterful execution of the Deathgrind genre that easily makes it a strong contender for the album of the year.

Loving Benighted's music for the impactful energy for many many years and they completely failed to disappoint the whole time. Ekbom is packed to the max with all the things I love about Benighted. This may very well become my favorite Benighted release ever. Time will tell. For now: job done excellently, Messieurs.

I love good intros, and Prodrome sets the mood well for the 35 minutes of completely unhinged slaughter that follow. Julien Truchan is an an exceptional vocalist - this man's noises are severely mind-boggling - backed up by a bunch of the seemingly most insane deathgrinders of the current timeline, e.g. Kévin Paradis: an absolute monster, pounding not only the drums but also my hypothalamus because this shit sends my blood pressure straight to the moon. Violent, bizarrely addictive, great.
Favorite track: Le Vice des Entrailles.

Brutality at its finest! Every Benighted album is a slab of gnarly death metal and Ekbom is definitely a highlight for me already. Everyone's performances here are what you expect from Benighted, but a little faster, little nastier. And so many good bone-snapping riffs! Julien sounds deranged as usual, and Kevin's laying down some incredible drumwork.

This album has a problem with the MP3 VO compression. I'm pretty sure that's what Bandcamp downloads when you download on mobile, and the album has a bunch of weird volume jumps when I play it on the app. The flac sounds fine though.
